Over the last couple of weeks there has been an increase in children presenting with cold and flu type symptoms as well as tummy bugs.
We received a letter from the HSE today outlining best practice in relation to Influenza and the Winter Vomiting Bug. You can read it here.

Our wonderful Parents’ Council organised the children’s Christmas Party once again this year. Santa Claus paid a visit and had a present for everyone. We’re all getting into the Christmas spirit after today’s party. Thanks to our Parents’ Council for working so hard and having everything ready for today.

The school will be closed on Wednesday 4th December to facilitate a training day for teachers on the new Primary Language Curriculum. (PLC) All pupils received an information sheet for parents on the PLC today. More information is available here.
3rd to 6th Classes had a very active and enjoyable day on Thursday 21st November at the Sportshall Athletics Competition which took place in Mucklagh Community Centre. The event was organised by Offaly Sports Partnership. Thanks to Eamon Henry and his team for such an enjoyable day.

Once again this year there was a really enthusiastic response to the Christmas Shoebox Appeal. All the boxes were collected this week and we know they will make some children very happy this Christmas. Well done to all the children and parents who took part! 

5th and 6th Classes had lots of fun creating and working on a variety of science experiments. They learned about central fugal forces, weight distribution, static electricity, surface tension and much more. It was an enjoyable way to mark Science Week 2019.


We had lots of fun for Hallowe’en. A special well done to the children who made their own costumes from recyclables on the theme of “Climate Change Horror”.
