Thanks to those parents who attended the internet safety meeting on Monday 25th September. There were lots of interesting topics discussed.  Thanks also to Davina from Zeeko, who was with us all day in school presenting workshops to children, teachers and parents. More information on Zeeko here.

In the coming weeks we will take part in the Run Around Europe Challenge. This is a project set up by Sports Ireland to get children active. Children run the equivalent distance to a city in Europe. We hope to arrive in London very soon!

Thanks to all those parents who attended the AGM of the Parents’ Council on Monday 18th September. It was a very positive and productive meeting.  The first event planned is a Cake Sale on Saturday 14th October.  More details later.

In Cairdeas 2 we went on a material hunt around the school.

On Wednesday evening we were awarded first prize in Tullamore Credit Union’s Best School Garden Competition.  Well done to all the children who have planted, watered and looked after our various gardens over the last few months.  Thanks to Mrs. Kearns who has guided us in all our gardening activities.  A special word of thanks to Pat Foley and Geashill Tidy Towns for all their assistance and inspiration over the years.

Well done to the boys who played their first match of the season on Wednesday 13th September against Rath N.S. It was great to start the year with a win.
