There was great excitement in school on Thursday as Santa Claus arrived for the children’s Christmas Party.
A big thank you to our wonderful Parents’ Council for organising all the day’s activities.

Our Christmas Play took place in front of a packed church on Tuesday evening. The children from all the classes in the school took part and they all performed brilliantly. Take a look at the photos below. We will post more soon and hopefully we’ll have some videos too.
The children in Junior Infants have been getting into the Christmas spirit. They have been playing in “Santa’s Workshop” and created lovely Art. Our class elf, Jingle, was so impressed he even left a present under our Christmas tree!
A reminder that our Christmas Play takes place on Tuesday 19th December in Raheen Church at 7pm. For those who can’t make it on the night you can watch it online here.
Senior Infants have been busy learning all about 3D shapes. They made cubes and cuboids from marshmallows and cocktail sticks. It was great fun. Afterwards they got to eat them!!!
In Cairdeas 2 we were building using 3D shapes.
We held our annual Bring & Buy Sale in aid of St. Vincent de Paul on Thursday 7th December. The children really enjoyed the day and raised just over €570. Well done and thanks to everyone who contributed to such a worthy cause.
The pupils in 5th and 6th Classes worked in groups and created four new business ideas. They worked on all areas associated with a business, such as advertising, finance and production. They then had to pitch their businesses, Dragons’ Den style, to two dragons, looking for investment. This was a very interesting and worthwhile experience which encouraged teamwork and entrepreneurship. Thanks to Nadia from Bizworld for all her work and guidance over the two days. Thanks also to Darren from Bank of Ireland and Mr. Maher for being very good dragons.
We are practising using money in our class.
Well done to the children and parents in 1st and 2nd Classes for creating wonderful musical instruments using recycled materials.
