Confirmation Update

As you may be aware, government guidelines on Confirmation and Communion seemed to change on Tuesday 29th June. As a result the diocese has communicated that Confirmations planned for July will not be able to go ahead as planned.
Therefore our Confirmation ceremony scheduled for July 9th has been postponed.
This is disappointing for us all but at this point there is nothing we can do but wait and see how the situation develops in the coming weeks.
We will be in touch with you as soon as we have any further information on a new date.
The following is a message from Bishop Denis Nulty:
‘Comments made by Government Leaders yesterday suggest that First Communion and Confirmation ceremonies planned for July must now be cancelled. It is a great sadness to me that the children who have waited so patiently to receive these sacraments must be disappointed again and again. My thanks to all involved in the preparation . I am very sorry to have to send this message. We will await further advice from officials as to when it is safe to proceed.’ Bishop Denis.
