Geashill wins Ireland’s Tidiest Village Award!

There was a great sense of happiness and pride all around the village on Friday when Geashill was named Ireland’s Tidiest Village at the annual Supervalu Tidy Towns awards ceremony. Everyone in the school sends our congratulations to the Geashill Tidy Towns Committee as well as to the dedicated team of volunteers.

A special mention to Eddie Kelly, our school caretaker, for his trojan work all around the village.

Confirmation and First Communion

The First Communion ceremony took place on Saturday 2nd October.

Congratulations to all the girls and boys and a big thanks to Msgr Coonan for such a lovely ceremony.

The Confirmation ceremony took place on Friday 17th September. Congratulations to all in last year’s 6th Class. It was great to meet up again. Thanks to Fr. John for such a lovely ceremony.

 


 

Geashill Area 5-Year Plan Survey

Over the past few weeks all of the community groups in Geashill have come together with the help of Offaly Local Development Company to put together a 5 year plan for the Geashill area. Geashill area households will get a paper survey delivered over next few days and we would appreciate if you could take the time to fill it out tell us what you want for Geashill. Surveys can be dropped into our voting box in the centre of the village  or you can complete it online
All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and will be returned directly to Offaly Local Development Company.

Summer Holidays

The school closed for the summer holidays on June 24th.

A summer programme is running from July 5th to 16th.

The school reopens for the new school year on Monday 30th August for Junior Infants only and on Tuesday 31st August for all other classes.
