We held our 6th Class graduation ceremony on Wednesday 19th June. We celebrated all they have achieved in their time in our school, alongside their families and all classes. Well done to all 21 pupils who are moving on to secondary school and we wish them nothing but the best in the future.
We had great fun in school on Friday 31st May celebrating Offaly’s wonderful Under 20 hurling team. The school was full of colour and excitement.
We are looking forward to meeting our new Junior Infants and their parents in early June. Information on starting school can be read here.
Congratulations to our girls and boys who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday 18th May. Thanks to their teacher Ms. Carthy and to Msgr Coonan for all their work preparing for this special day. Thanks also to our choir and musicians who added so much to the ceremony.
Great news! We received our 8th Green Flag at an awards ceremony in Athlone on May 21st. Congratulations and well done to the Green School committee for all their hard work over the past two years. Take a look at some of their work here.
We recently launched, in conjunction with Geashill Tidy Towns, a re-use uniform scheme called, “Looks New to Me.” Anyone who has a uniform in good condition that is no longer used can drop it into the school. One of our parents has kindly volunteered to help organise this for us and all uniforms ready for re-use are hanging in our school entrance. Parents are free to take any that suits.
Well done to our pupils who won medals in Killeigh Community Games handwriting and art competitions. What a talented bunch! Best of luck to those who progressed to the Offaly finals.
We had a wonderful week of weather for our Active School Week 2024. All our classes took part in a wide variety of activities each day. Some of the activities included karate, line and Irish dancing, pilates, badminton, rounders, penalty shootouts, obstacle courses, football darts and much more.
Thanks to our Active School Committee for all their organising. You can read lots more about our ASW 2024 here.
