Best of luck to our quiz team who take part in the National Final of the CUDA Quiz on Saturday 21st April in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown. It’s a great achievement to reach this stage and hopefully the questions will suit them!
Well done to our boys’ team who fought really hard to win their first football match against Pullough on Friday. Their next match takes place in Geashill against Gaelscoil Éadan Doire on Thursday at 3pm.
Our girls take on Ballybryan on Wednesday at 2.15pm in Geashill. This will be their first match of the season and we wish them the best of luck.
Well done to our boys and girls who took part in the Offaly soccer finals today in Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore. Both teams played three matches and all competed with great determination but unfortunately neither team have qualified for the next round. Well done again for making the finals.
Irish dancing with Siobhan started back for all classes today. 3rd and 4th Classes certainly seemed to enjoy it. The classes will continue until the summer holidays.
Congratulations to the 6th Class pupils who were confirmed in St. Joseph’s Church , Ballinagar on Friday 23rd March. Thanks to everyone who helped make the day so special, including Bishop Denis Nulty, Msgr. Coonan and Fr. Stapleton. Well done to the children from 3rd, 4th and 5th Classes who joined their counterparts from Ballinagar N.S. in the choir.
We had a very exciting morning on Friday when nine visitors from Jaux , including the mayor and vice-mayor, came to the school. They were joined by BBG Town Twinning committee members. All classes performed a variety of poems, songs, music and dance much to the delight of our guests. Well done to everyone involved.

A large number of children from the school walked in the Tullamore parade as part of the BBG Town Twinning Group. They were joined by children from Ballinagar and Cappagh schools as well as teachers, parents, members of the community and visitors from Jaux. It was an extremely cold day but the children added greatly to the colour and excitement of the parade.
On Thursday 15th March 6th Class, as part of their Confirmation preparation, went on their retreat to Mt. St. Anne’s in Killenard. Confirmation takes place on March 23rd at 2.30pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Ballinagar.
We had great success at the 5-a-side soccer competition which took place in Leah Victoria Park in Tullamore today.
The boys’ team topped their group following a draw and three wins while the girls’ team finished second with three wins and one loss. Both teams have now qualified for the Offaly finals which will take place on April 12th, at the same venue. Well done to all!
